Argo is a hot spot located in Summit, Illinois, on the western edge of Chicago. Three locations provide great train action: The Indiana Harbor Belt's Argo Yard, the Belt Railway of Chicago junction and the Illinois Central and CSX Crossing. Every major railroad in Chicago has overhead trackage rights and so we see a huge variety of trians.
Shot from 1995 through 1999, we'll see a variety of railroads, trains and changes in the local railroad landscape.

Railroad junction areas can often provide a variety of rail action, and this DVD offers an interesting mix of trains, locomotives, trackage, and lineside structures. However, in this case, the subject matter goes beyond the title since the videographer also sought out other spots in an easterly direction. So, besides the Argo, IL area, La Porte, IN; South Bend, IN; and Elkhart, IN are presented. Locomotives include those lettered: IHB, BRC, SP, UP, CNW, Conrail, GTW/CN, SF, NS, NYS&W, CSX, WC, BN, NS, SSW, Amtrak, and others. Many engines of the nineties are shown as well as Geeps and end-cab switchers from an earlier build time. The action runs from light engine moves to switching to fast main line running. This video is marred by camera problems showing up in lighting and focus issues. I happen to own a few of the original producer's VHS tapes when they came out having these same issues. I was hoping after ten years under another DVD owner the issues could have been corrected, since as a group, they do cover some interesting areas.
